Martin is the owner and founder of the Smile Oralcare practice.
He moved to the area in 1981 and founded his own practice in 1983. For 17 years he helped it grow into a highly successful enterprise. Martin then decided that the time was right for a new kind of dental practice. Oralcare was developed over a 4 year period and finally came to fruition in February 2001.
He is a gadget freak and has more than a passing interest in wines. Martin particularly enjoys aesthetic (cosmetic) dentistry and working in partnership with patients to prevent dental disease. He is a practitioner of Hypnosis and uses a fast-phobia-cure for other phobias as well as dentistry.
Outside of the practice Martin worked for Denplan as their Professional Liaison Officer until 2023. Previous to thathe had strong links with the British Dental Association, where he was a member of the Principal Executive Committee and going on to be Chair of the BDA’s Principal Executive Committee (PEC) from July 2012 until February 2014.
