Case 1:
Replacing Missing Laterals with Composite Bonding.
This patient has the lateral incisors missing (the smaller teeth next to the central ones). The canine teeth had been previously smoothed to make them appear less pointed but they still looked quite bulbous and rounded.
Composite was bonded to these teeth to make them look more flat and square Also some composite was bonded to the premolar on the patients left to make it look more bulbous and pointed. Finally the two central teeth were shortened slightly.

Case 2:
Restoring a Dark Tooth After Trauma.
This patient had a darkened tooth caused by a previous accident, which damaged the nerve and led to discolouration. A root canal treatment was required to treat the tooth, followed by internal bleaching to lighten it from the inside.
The previously restored broken area was carefully replaced with composite to match the new shade, creating a natural, seamless appearance. The result is a tooth that blends perfectly with the surrounding teeth, restoring both function and aesthetics.

Repairing Damage to Teeth from an Airbag Injury.
This particular case was an unusual presentation with an injury to several teeth at once and the damage is relatively light. The injury was from an airbag that had exploded during a road traffic collision. The repair was effected using standard techniques for aesthetic white fillings: etching the surface with phosphoric acid, applying adhesive that penetrates the etched surface and then carefully choosing the correct shades or restorative composite materials to build up the teeth so that they look as natural as possible. The patient was delighted with this outcome as he had envisaged much more drastic intervention.
